“Self-Care”? What Comes To Your Mind?

Having a spa day? Getting your hair done? Taking some “me” time?

To be honest, I have spent most of my life “caring” for those around me, my spouse, my children, our adoptive children. Then one day, after my long and painful suffering with Lyme disease, I decided to make a shift.
Does that mean I stopped caring for those who matter most in my life? Absolutely not. But what I have realized was; in order to give my best self to others, I must become my best self for “me”. I need to regain my health and well being.
Have you ever thought about what your best self would look like?
Only you know the answer to that.
Do you allow yourself to get enough sleep every night?
Do you watch your diet? Take your daily supplements? Get your body moving?
Do you take mental breaks?
Do you practice meditation or give thanks within your spiritual community?
Do you have your own community of support, whether it be family or friends to lean on?
After my long health battles, and with a lot of prayer, I never took my health for granted. We are given this one life and one body, so do your absolute best to nurture it.
