I have several income streams. All of them touch on my passions. Making money is something I love being able to do - to know that I have something someone is willing to spend their hard-earned money on is very gratifying.
As a Christian, I struggled with this for years. I believed that coming up with ways to use my talents was bad - that it was connected to the “love of money being the root of evil.” I shouldn’t get such pleasure out of making money. Especially as an entrepreneur, using the gifts God gave me? Right?
Nope. That's some bad thinking. And it took me quite awhile to figure out that was going on deep inside my brain. It was okay for others to charge and make money, just not me. Anyone else see that kind of thinking playing out in little ways?
Reality check. God gave me certain talent and abilities. I can develop them and use them to glorify Him (WHATEVER you do, work at it as if working for the Lord). Or I can hold on to those mistaken beliefs and bury them and miss out on blessings God has for me and my family and others through those gifts.
It’s not the love of money that’s motivating me. It’s the ability to make money, to help my family and others that motivates me ~ and to glorify God through the gifts He decided to give to me.
Earning money allows me to serve others. Do you think the Proverbs 31 woman who considered and bought fields, and provided for her household, was worried that using her abilities and talents to make money was bad? That God didn't want her to learn, and grow, and use the talents he gave her? How about the parable Jesus shared about the talents handed out. The one who buried his was NOT the one praised!
So, if this has been a stopping block for you - hop over it. Kick it to the curb and start developing those gifts and abilities GOD has given you for such a time as this.
Here are some of my endeavors right now: • Health + Wellness NWM business • Air BnB on our home • Etsy store - Bible Journaling Templates • Photographer • Designer • Writer • Mentoring, leading my team
Can you get a hint of my passions and talents from that list? Health. Hospitality. Faith. Family. Creative Endeavors. Learning. Leadership.
Tell me about your skills. Are you using them to make money?
If any of the above interests you and you want more info, or help in moving forward in them, drop a comment or send me an email!
Blessings Friends!
